Biography

Barbara Lazarotto is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Law, Science, Technology and Society Research Group (LSTS) of Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), and the Co-Director of the Brussels Privacy Hub. Her research centers on the intersection of data protection and data governance, particularly the secondary use of personal and non-personal data within the EU regulatory framework. She lectures on “Data et Digital: Digital legal matters and perspectives” at SciencesPo Paris. Barbara is also the Executive Director of the CPDP (“Computers, Privacy and Data Protection”) Conference. Barbara completed her Ph.D. at LSTS and is a former Marie-Sklodowska Curie Action’s Fellow.

Barbara holds a Bachelor in Laws from the University of Porto and a Master in Judiciary Law from the University of Minho, Portugal.
