Brussels Privacy Hub is excited to announce the publication of a new series of reports, co-authored by its Co-Director, Prof. Gianclaudio Malgieri, alongside Adrien Abecassis, as part of CERRE’s ongoing Global Governance for the Digital Ecosystems project. The compendium, titled Global Governance of Artificial Intelligence, is now available here on CERRE’s website.

In a world where Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping economies, industries, and societies, the need for comprehensive and globally coherent regulatory frameworks has never been greater. This series of reports tackles these pressing issues by offering evidence-based policy recommendations aimed at fostering regulatory convergence and guiding the development of AI governance that balances innovation with social responsibility.

In his contribution, Towards AI Adequacy: Operationalising the Principles Underpinning Global Governance of AI Systems, Prof. Malgieri provides a detailed analysis of key principles drawn from frameworks like the GDPR and the AI Act, advocating for a safe, fair, and human-centric approach to AI deployment. He argues for the concept of “AI Adequacy” as a guiding principle for transparent and ethical AI governance on a global scale.

The series also includes a comprehensive report on Generative AI: Global Governance and the Risk-Based Approach, which charts a path forward for policymakers, providing a constructive framework for regulating foundational AI technologies.
