On 17 September, our Co-Director Sophie Stalla-Bourdillon participated in a panel hosted by the Information Commissioner’s Office at the Eyes Off Data Summit in Dublin. The panellists included: Salid Vadhan (Harvard University), Gary Howarth (US National Institute of Standards and Technology), Yves-Alexandre de Montjoye (Imperial College London), and were moderated by Paul Comerford from the Information Commissioner’s Office. Sophie commented on the ICO guidelines on anonymisation and possible convergences of approaches to anonymisation in light of the CJEU judgment in the EDPS v SRB case.
For background reading, Sophie has written on the emergence of a uniform approach to anonymisation in the EU in the European Journal of Risk Regulation, available here.
Sophie has also published a case note on the CJEU EDPS v SRB judgment available here.
