Abbas Ravjani is a Director for Privacy and Public Policy at Meta, where he advises the company on measures to enhance privacy across company products, with a specific focus on personalized advertising and data strategy across the globe. He has been involved in work relating to legal basis and personalized ads in Europe, including Meta’s Subscription for No Ads. Prior to Meta, Abbas served as an Attorney-Adviser at the U.S. Department of State, where he handled issues related to consular affairs, counter-terrorism, and information sharing. Previously, Abbas served as a Deputy Chief Counsel in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he conducted legal and budgetary oversight on national security matters. Abbas received his JD from Yale Law School and his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Middle East Studies from Austin College in Sherman, Texas where he awarded a Truman Scholarship. He is also a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
