Laura Carmichael is a Research Fellow within the IT Innovation Centre part of the Digital Health and Biomedical Engineering Research Group at the University of Southampton, UK. Laura studied Law (LLB (Hons)) — before completing an interdisciplinary MSc (Dist.,) and PhD in Web Science at the University of Southampton. She has been involved in various interdisciplinary research projects related to data sharing and re-usage. Her research interests include the areas of data protection, privacy, cybersecurity, and digital health with particular focus on issues concerning data stewardship and risk assessment.
