The Brussels Privacy Hub is excited to announce that registrations are now open for the 10th edition of the Brussels Privacy Hub Summer Academy, taking place from June 16–20, 2025, at U-Residence, Generaal Jacqueslaan, Elsene, Belgium. This intensive five-day program, running from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM daily, offers a unique opportunity for professionals, researchers, and policymakers to delve into the complexities of EU digital regulations.

In an age of rapid technological advancements and evolving regulatory landscapes, the EU has developed a comprehensive Data Regulation Stack—a multilayered framework governing digital data practices. At its core lies the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), complemented by regulations such as the NIS2 Directive, the Digital Services Act (DSA), the Digital Markets Act (DMA), the Data Act, the AI Act, the Cyber Resilience Act, and the European Health Data Space Regulation. These instruments collectively aim to safeguard fundamental rights, ensure market fairness, and mitigate risks associated with data-driven technologies. The Summer Academy 2025 will explore this regulatory framework in depth, focusing on key questions such as how different regulatory layers reinforce or challenge each other, the implications for businesses, regulators, and individuals, how enforcement bodies address conflicts and ambiguities across layers, where regulatory gaps exist, and how the EU’s regulatory approach compares to frameworks in South America, Asia, and the UK.

Participants will gain expert insights into the latest developments in EU digital regulations, engage in interactive discussions with leading academics, policymakers, and practitioners, and compare EU regulations with emerging global frameworks. At the end of the program, each participant will receive a certificate of completion, and members of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) can obtain CPE credits for their participation.
